V.A. Beat Club - The Best of '65 (1965 varios artists and musical styles video DVD with beat-blub german TV music programme - DVD format)

Beat-Club was a German music programme that ran from September 1965 to December 1972. It was broadcast from Bremen, Germany on Erstes Deutsches Fernsehen, the national public TV channel of the ARD, and produced by one of its members, Radio Bremen, later co-produced by WDR following the 38th episode.

The show's earlier episodes featured live performances, and was set in front of a plain brick wall. It underwent a revamp in 1967, when a more professional look was adapted with large cards in the background displaying the names of the performers, and lip-synched performances. Around this time, a troupe of young women billed the "Go-Go-Girls," were introduced to dance to songs when their performers couldn't appear.

In early 1969, Travis was replaced by Dave Dee, of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich. On December 31, 1969, "Beat-Club" switched to color and again featured live performances. Dee departed in 1970, leaving Nerke as the lone host.

Thanks Doc. I was 12 in those days and although we lived in The Netherlands I just had to see each and every show and my parents hated it.
The starting and closing tune the Go Go Girls danced on was composed by Mark Wirtz - A Touch Of Velvet A Sting Of Brass.
If anyone is interested I have some CD's of good old Mark.
Listen and enjoy:

Hello fellows,

It's always a pleasure to share something very important to us, music lovers, and even more important when is to this extraordinary blog, where the quality of some visitors, is very good (yes, I'm talking about you COR, and other more like MARIOS, etc, etc).

I'm really a kid, and I'm like a baby listening / reading your experiences, which are very enriching, as the last one told by COR ... every day you learn something.

Thanks you for your gratitude and thanks to you OldRockerBR, for making this possible through this magnificent blog.

I downloaded all links via download manager (the downloaded files are of 199 MB each aexcept the last one which is 183 mb).
Any hint?

Uncompress file BC.part01.rar and all others will be automatically decompressed.

The result will be 10 video files and one jpeg image.

Hello,

I've got the same problem : extraction is impossible.

I've downloaded all the parts but :
WinRAR says that the password is wrong,
7-Zip says that BC.part01.rar is not supported archive,
And StuffIt says :
Unable to expand archive
Archive: BC.part01.rar
Engine Error: Error unsupported

So I've redownloaded part01.rar and made a binary comparaison between my two versions of this first part => conclusion : these two RAR files are identical binary files => no corruption during the download process.

So my question is : which software to use to extract the files from this archive ?

@Chris,

I use Winrar to compress and uncompress rar files.

Download freeware version to Winrar here: http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar351.exe

Here on good tutorial:

hi, i use winrar and the msg i get is unexpected end of archive and no files to extract...

Anonymous said...

Hello, it's me again,

I've installed WinRAR v3.51 and now I can open the archive with this version but extration is still impossible because of two major problems :
* At the opening of part01, I get these warnings :
BC.part01.rar: CRC failed in the encrypted file BC.part01.rar (wrong password ?)
BC.part02.rar: CRC failed in the encrypted file BC.part02.rar (wrong password ?)
...
BC.part15.rar: CRC failed in the encrypted file BC.part15.rar (wrong password ?)

* And when I take a look inside the archive, I see absolutely nothing : as Anonymous wrote before, there are no files at all in it.

Anyone has managed to extract the files ?

Chris

PS : Thanks for the tutorial but I'm not a newbie at all with multi-volume archives.
Actually, I'm a computer engineer since 1991 ... and yes, I'm a old rocker too ;)

Hi there,

I can not understand how you can not decompress the file ... around 80 DL, and now the problems start.

Try downloading one by one, to see what is happening, and still continue to make mistake, I then go up again this DVD.

Best regards

downloaded the first again, same problem. I am not new in this thing, trust me it doesn't work (similar problem with the argentinian dvd here).

thanks anyway...

Hello Doctor,

I don't understand : are you the uploader ?
If yes, can tell you me what is your operating system ?
And what are the name and the version of the software you used to make the RAR files ?

Chris

What an absolutely tremendous post. Such a treat to be able to see some of these old bands playing live. Absolutely no problems with download or extractions as I used WinRAR (don't forget to enter the password listed on the txt file of links).

Note to NTSC countries: This DVD appears to be in PAL format which won't matter if you watch it on computer but may fail to play on many western DVD players. Either get a cheap player that does multi-formats or convert when you burn it.

Dr. Bell Otus said...

No, the zip files are not wrong, and the password is correct, because I don't type it (I type the password in the Note Pad, and copy-paste it, to the winrar).

More then 100 DL, well the problem is not mine, sorry.

I just found this blog and you folks really have some rare and first class shares. I am not a computer engineer. I am digitally challenged to say the least. I am too stoopid to burn a video dvd. I didn't download this but once so you should have 101 downloads instead of 100.

....but by using winrar with the password supplied in text file it unpacked perfectly and plays perfectly on my compooter. I can't imagine why others are having difficulty. I guess ignorance is bliss. As a friend of mine says, "Even a blind hog will find an ear of corn on the ground once in a while".

I don't know how you messed this up, Dr.Bell Otus, but I hope you mess up 1966 & 1967 the same way. If you do it right I will never get it to play on my compooter. One of these days I will get my son or a friend from work to show me how to burn a video dvd. In the mean time, I'm just thrilled that I can watch it on my compooter.

Tanks!
