[ Brazilian Bands Series # 15 ]
One of the embodiments of Brazil's crash into the counter-culture of the '60s, Mutantes (Mutants) weren't just a great pop-rock group, they were boundary-smashing revolutionaries.As part of that country's late-'60s "Tropicalismo" movement, the trio helped modernize distinctly Brazilian sounds, scuzzying the samba rhythms of Carnaval with fuzzed-up electric guitars, and blowing a weird avant-garde breeze into the smooth hair of conservative bossa nova culture.
Rita Lee and the Baptista brothers (Arnaldo and Sergio) made music wholly reminiscent of REVOLVER-era Beatles, mixing in Stockhausian sonic collages, Zappa's sense of absurdity, and a Brazilian love of the groove.
Interpreting the songs of their "Tropicalismo" friends (Caetano Veloso, Gilbeto Gil, Jorge Ben), they infused Brazilian folk forms with modern studio touches--brass fan fares, found-sound effects, psychedelic vocal harmonies, etc.
It is essentially shagadelic mid-'60s pop, with Lee's innocent vocals dripping with irony and Rogerio Duprat's arrangements as forward thinking as anything that emerged from LA or London at the time.
Sergio Dias' guitars are rotten dirty, flawlessly rambling over Jorge Ben's acoustic guitar as in "A Minha Menina" and giving away sweet leslie feelings as in "Baby", Sergio is unforgettable for his unique tone and playing and establishes his personality in this record alone.Rita Lee's finest does not resides in her vocal habilities, but on her fabulous percussions, or who else would play tropicalia over the sound of breaking crystal?
Arnaldo Baptista sounds quiet but some times appears screaming and partying around with hammonds and moogs, and his bass playing is spectacular.
This album appears at number 9 on Rolling Stone's list of 100 greatest Brazilian albums of all time (review by Wendy Bazilian).

Desculpa lá estar a ser tão chato, mas parece-me que, à semelhança do Jardim Eléctrico, neste post também estão "em falta", desde o tema 8 (Le Premier Bonheur Du Jour) inclusivé, até ao tema 11 (Ave, Gengis Khan), nos arquivos em FLAC, que posteaste.
Se possivel, e mais uma vez agradecendo-te desde já, poderias postear os temas em falta???

Creio que você tenha baixado apenas o primeiro link do post FLAC que contem justamente as faixas citadas.
É só baixar o segundo link que terás as faixas faltantes e também o artwork.
A outra hipotese é que tenhas baixados as duas partes (20090616or2 e 20090616or3), mas descompactado somente a primeira
Verifique por favor e me avise se tudou correu como esperado.

Realmente, só tenho de pedir-te desculpas pelo incómodo causado.
Na realidade, só descomprimi o primero arquivo, pois pensava que o segundo descomprimia automáticamente ... ou seja, quando deste "ordem" de compressão ao WinRar, fizeste-o para cada um dos arquivos (dividiste o arquivo em dois arquivos, e efectuaste a compressão para cada um deles) ... tinha pensado eu, que tinhas só efectuado uma compressão (a do arquivo inicial), e tinhas dado "ordem" ao WinRar para comprimir por partes (2 partes), o que ao ser assim, bastaria eu descomprimir um deles, que o outro automáticamente, seria descomprimido.
Desculpa lá, mais uma vez, a minha impulsividade.
